The Louisiana Pecan Festival
The Louisiana Pecan Festival has been steadily growing in popularity and attendance since it began in 1969. Each year the Town of Colfax hosts 50,000 - 75,000 visitors for the three day festival which is always held on the first full weekend in November.
The Festival begins on Friday with a Blessing of the Crop, Children's Day activities, carnival, and live music, and continues on Saturday with more music and a huge parade at 10 AM and fireworks that night. Sunday's activities are lower keyed, but provide an afternoon of fun for families, with carnival rides, good food and music.
